AKent teenager who spent a year sleeping in a tent in his garden, says he now finds his old bed too comfortable. Steve Young, 16, of Borough Green, slept in the tent for all of 2007 to raise £2,500 for a hospice. He had been looking forward to a “nice warm bed” on January 1, but says he couldn’t get to sleep. After braving sub-zero temperatures and waking up to snow, Steve said: “I wasn’t used to the extra comfort.” He was inspired by fellow scouts who took turns sleeping in a tent — but wanted to go one further. He said: “Why do I have to discontinue this? I could do it on my own.
